Our Story
The Yasgur Road Campground is more than a campground, it is a unique experience.
The Yasgur Road Campground is located on the 100-acre former homestead of Max and Miriam Yasgur. The Yasgur’s were simple farmers until four young men came to their home one day, in 1969, and asked them to selflessly open their grounds to thousands of Hippies from across the world.
They said yes...
For three days the world expected a disaster as throngs of people and traffic descended upon the tiny hamlet of Bethel, NY. Instead of what could have happened, what did happen was three days of peace, love and music, and the Yasgur’s blessed a generation for the spirit of kindness that made it Woodstock.
There will never be another Woodstock. That was the perfect storm of politics and people coming together in harmony.
What does remain is the spirit of Woodstock.
We ask you to share the spirit of peace and love with us as we continue the Yasgur tradition of just saying yes.
Welcome Home.
